The Wiener Choro Klub is a musical movement based in Vienna. A pioneer in Austria, this project has as its main objective the dissemination and teaching of choro, the first urban Brazilian music, which for this reason deserved to be called "classical Brazilian music" when it began to be performed in the halls.

The group “Wiener Choro Ensemble”, formed by Antônio de Pádua, Roberta Karin, João Vitor, Daniel Mesquita and Marco Antonio da Costa, represents and is the main musical showcase of the Wiener Choro Klub.

On the Batutas album, the “Wiener Choro Ensemble” and a total of 12 guest musicians explore the relationship between Brazilian music and European music, establishing a dialogue between these two worlds - mediated by percussion and rhythms of African origin.

The concept of the work and the contemporary touch of the arrangements immerse the audience in a unique universe.

The Batutas album has research and support from the Brasil-Austria Cultural Center.
